The Circumstances Surrounding Ruth's Testimony

I
just remembered this funny thing that happened on Sunday, so my blog posts are going to be out of order. Here we go.

We currently have church at 8am because of construction that is going on in our building and so we cannot fit more than one ward in the building at a time. It is easy not to complain, though because we are done at 11am, and because the last ward has church from 2:30 to 5:30. Well, Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30 and thought, "Oh good, I can sleep for one more hour." The next thing I knew, it was 7:33. Luckily we had all bathed the night before, and when I said, "Oh no," John popped right out of bed too and said, "At least it is fast Sunday." We dressed everyone and combed everyone's hair as fast as we could. Ruth put dry cereal in baggies for the younger kids and we made it to church at 8:04. I went immediately to the mothers room to nurse Anya and even made it back in time for the sacrament. So I felt pretty good about the morning so far.

Ruth was about the third person to bare her testimony and she said, "I know the church is true, and I know that Heavenly Father loves me. This morning my parents did not wake up until 7:33..." the congregation laughed and John and I turned pretty red and laughed too, "...Heavenly Father helped us get to church because he loves us and wants us here..." I was pretty embarrassed, but I am so glad that Ruth has such a sweet testimony and understands that Heavenly Father indeed cares how her day goes.

That is so sweet! I love it when your kid says something sweet and funny at the same time. I am also glad to know that we aren't the only ones that sleep in on sunday. I have done that exact same thing, wake up too early go back to sleep and then wake up late. And then it is a mad rush to church. We also bring kids cereal in baggies when there is no time for breakfast. ha ha!
Oh and by the way, I cannot do all those things..running...playing with kids...by myself. Ben is a huge help. Every night he helps get the house clean and kids to bed and he is pretty good about helping with the party as well. He will also babysit kids while I run if I didn't get time earlier in the day. So that is how I do it all...I don't. Ben does. :)

That was so sweet. It is so great that she could recognize that Heavenly Father helps us with the little things too. I love a budding testimony. You are a good mom!!
