On Saturday we dug up parts of our back yard and later put down grass seed. We have determined that in Kansas it is cheaper to let some grass die in the summer and plant it again in the fall, rather than taking good care of it and having a $150 water bill, and a $40 weed killer/ fertilizer bill every month for 6 months of the year. Anyway, Anya really enjoyed this project. She is cute with a beard too. Anya actually is happiest when she is outside, and since she is the sixth child she gets more freedom to crawl around and taste the dirt.(Anya is actually sitting in the pool spot. Our grass thins out some, but doesn't die completely and we do water on the hottest/ driest weeks.)
