Can We Do It: Media Free Week

This summer my kids discovered Phineas and Ferb. They are obsessed! Without permission, some kid goes and puts on Phineas and Ferb and suddenly Joshua is my only child. All we can hear is Phineas and Ferb. I can do whatever I want, the house stays clean, and voila, I am addicted too. This is not good of course, so I have declared that starting tomorrow we are having a media free week. This will include, no TV, no Wii, no computer games, and no social networking including blogs. All we are allowing is email, and really just for Dad. Can we do it? Will we survive? (I think we will join the rec center this week).  So farewell facebook, farewell blog world, farewell video games, and farewell, Phineas, Ferb, Candace, Perry, and Dr. D....until next week.

We did it for 6 months before. You can totally do it! The first couple of days are the hardest and then your imagination turns on and the time flies. The hardest thing for us was when friends and cousins came to play. But they lived too! Have fun!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! That is the exact smae show my kids have gotten addicted to that started our week of no TV/Video games. I have to say the week went very well. Harrison and Sophie could not have cared less. James, well i had to do more to keep him entertained, but we had a good time. We made cookies, painted, went swimming a lot, it was good. I have once again reinstated the rule of "you can only watch TV for as many minutes that you have spent reading a book." They get about one episode of Phineas now.

I've been thinking about doing this too! Phineas and Ferb visit our house much too often. I think they may have to be banned. :)

Good luck!
