I found these pictures of John and I on John's 25th birthday. This is a week before I turned 21 and 6 months before we got engaged. My hair is bleached, but that is an entire story all on it's own. I am not sure what John thought about me at this point. But the day we met he thought I was 18 and too wild (if that is the right word. Maybe not serious about important things is more right.) I thought that John was old and fat. But, I look at the pictures now and think "Wow!!! We were both a lot thinner! I also think John was/is a total nerd, and I loved those jeans and that sweater!! Ruth and Kate said, "I can't believe you died your hair," and "Dad looks so much more handsome, no wonder you fell in love with him."
Here we are in 2008. Look at those wrinkles around my eyes, and those fat arms!! And Should I change my hair color again? But with all those wrinkles, stretch marks and many more pounds we have gained in the past twelve years, we sure are a whole lot happier. It has been the best 12 years, and John is the BEST husband and father. I am so thankful he chose me.

oh my goodness! look how cute you are! (in 2008) I think you may have been thinner, but you are cuter now. maybe that's because you are happier. interesting how those things go together.
John is a lot thinner as well back in the day, however, that's probably because he exercised sometimes. haha. i like his short hair cut in the 08 picture. that looks good.
and john, i am not criticizing you for not exercising. I don't either, though I am going to start tomorrow. I do pretty good for a month or two and then stop for a month or two. my body doesn't lose or gain.

I think you guys look much much happier and much better. Seriously. You look so good! I don't even know what oyu are talking about with the wrinkles and fat, you don't have an ounce of fat on your entire body! Sheesh. I did laugh my head off at what Kate and Ruth said about John, THAT is hilarious.
I think John should be greatful that you chose him! You are patient and loving, you care for him, understand his nerdiness, and can put up with him....you look wonderful and are happier married than you were single, and the inside is what makes the outside beautiful!!! of course, I never thought of you as tick or thin, just a blessing that was born to me and my nerd of a husband who happens to have a great sense of humer...you can say what you will about handsome VS nerd, give me nerd they spend so much time thinking they really don't care how they look, they just want to be comfortable. John has a John sense of humor which I really do enjoy, he has a way of looking at life from his wonderful twisted point of vuiew (John this is a compliment).
Anyway after all is said you both look wonderful and just remember the lines around your eyes just show how happy you are they are smile lines...love you guys! and the kids too.
