This Week at Our House # 24

1. John had a really great Father's Day celebrated completely by our children. They showered him with gifts, cards, breakfast in bed, a good morning milkshake. They made dinner. They cleaned the house. I was allowed to rest and John still had a really great day. 
2. I am 39 weeks pregnant now and contractions are coming harder and more frequently, though not regularly. I am hoping to meet little Susan any time in the next week and a half. I am tired and big and uncomfortable, but I feel better because I know I am at the end.
3. Ruth has been a very big help to me. She does laundry, dishes, cleans bathrooms, sweeps, scrubs floors, and takes care of the little kids. She makes everyday easier for me. 
4. Kate and Ruth basically share a bathroom with each other. Pretty much everyone else uses the other 2 bathrooms, but Ruth and Kate fight over their bathroom everyday. Kate will come to me complaining that she needed to use the bathroom when Ruth was using it. Ruth complains that Kate showers just as she was going to shower. Finally, I was like, "Do you want me to ground you from the bathroom?", "Do you want me to give you a schedule and you can only use the bathroom during your scheduled time?" It's just silly. 2 people should be able to share one bathroom without a war.
5. Johnny has been searching the scriptures and taking notes on what he has been learning. He is such a mature 12 year old. One of the cooler young men in our ward makes fun of Johnny all the time. Johnny just agrees with the mean things the kid says and continues to be himself. I definitely did not have that kind of maturity until I was much older.
6. Adam sucked his finger and picked up the living room. As long as he plans to suck his finger, I plan to give him that one very hard chore. In some sense, we are at a truce.
7. Rachel is tired of school! She hates getting up and going, she hates coming home and doing homework, and she hates that I am still saying, "Go to bed. It's a school night." She's almost done though, and we will never do year round school again!
8. Anya loves to read and reads just because she wants to every single day. I love that kind of a kid, especially at 6! I never have to say, "Go and read for 20 minutes!" That's just a beautiful thing!
9. Joseph had this funny conversation with Adam:  Joseph: Where did we get those scissors? Adam: Bought um Joseph: Bottom of where?
10. Josh told me, "I love you." I told Josh to go to bed again. Josh said, "No, Mom, you said the wrong thing. I said I love you."
11. Arwen is going to have a hard time when Susan is born. She gets very upset whenever anyone else sits on my lap. 
12. Susan has slowed down a bunch. I don't think she has much room left to kick anymore. I am looking forward to meeting her.
