I had my first Ob appointment yesterday. The doctor took out his ultra sound machine, looked at my chart and said, "If we can see, do you want to know what you have in there?" I said, "Yes! That would be great!" He looked around for a couple of minutes and said, "Oh, I know what we have here." I knew it was a boy then. Boys are easy to see.  We had already changed the boy name because of the 10 year old cub scout of John's named Noah. So we are very likely having a boy, and very likely naming him Joshua.

Since this one looks to be a boy, our pattern is holding true. We will have girl, girl, boy, boy, girl, girl, boy, boy. Also as long as I don't go into labor as usual and go 5 days late (induction will be scheduled for Feb 1), all of our children will be born in different months. That will leave May, June, and December with no birthdays for our family. John and I are both in October, Ruth in March, Kate in August, Johnny in September, Adam in November, Rachel in April, Anya in January, and Joseph in July. I think the pattern must come from marrying a mathematician.
