The first day of the 2010-2011 school year went pretty well. Adam is VERY excited about kindergarten. He is tested this week and starts full time next week. Kate who has been very worried about making friends, came home a lot less worried. Johnny seemed fine with his class and teacher, but he did not report much. Ruth had a tough day her first day of junior high. She had a lot of locker trouble and missed the bus coming home because she had to go to the bathroom and couldn't find one. I think those kinks are worked out now, and she will get into the swing of things pretty quickly. Now, I just have to get into the swing of things again. However, it actually did feel good to get up early and stay on schedule. I think we will have a good school year this year.

I love reading about kids returning to school; it bring back memories for sure. As A youth, I always had a lot of anxiety before I went to school for the first day each year. I am sure children have the same feelings. Of course, as parents we feel the same kind of anxiety but in a different way.
Hugs to you! LeAnn
I still have nightmares of the first day of school. Finding my locker, my classes, who to sit by at lunch, etc. etc. I think my dreams are a lot worse than it ever actually was. Or maybe I'm just blocking it all out. When my kids go back to school I feel major anxiety for them. Funny, I wonder if my mom ever felt that way for us.
They look great! Congrats to you for getting them off. Enjoy your year.
Yay hooray! I always loved school!
