You fill up my senses like a night in a forest
Like the mountains in springtime like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses come fill me again
Come let me love you let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you let me always be with you
Come let me love you come love me again
Let me give my life to you come let me love you come love me again
You fill up my senses... come fill me again.
Our car ride down to visit family yesterday lasted two hours because we ran a lot of errands along the way. I like John Denver; John does not. John was kind enough to let me torture him with John Denver for the full 2 hours.
After listening to Annie's Song, I dreamily told John about the guy I was going to marry who would write songs like Annie's Song for me. John said that while he will never write me a song like Annie's Song, at least he would never drag me through an awful divorce and lawsuit over the rights of the song. (Which John Denver did.)
Haha, a very John response, which reminded me of another "very John response". I reminded him of the time when we were just friends. I invited him to my house for Thanksgiving because he had no where to go. While in Maine, I took John to my favorite beach.
We sat on the rocks together looking out over the ocean. I said something like, "It is such a beautiful day. You can see forever." John immediately calculated the actual distance we could see-- something like 4 miles.
John feeling a bit of chagrin at this point said he would have to start trying to be more romantic.
Then I remembered...A few days previous to this long car ride, John went to Target before he came home from work and bought some dark Lindt chocolate and some very pretty dishes. He snuck in and set his present very prettily up on our bed to surprise me.
Now comes my turn to feel chagrin: When I saw the gifts, I didn't feel all romantic like and all thankful. (Like I should be.) In fact, I thought, "what use is that?"
John, watching my reaction asked what I would rather have instead. Well, I would rather have some more shelving and a couple of new laundry hampers. LAME, I know. I need to work on being more romantic too.
Or we are just the right match! I LOVE John-- he makes me happy EVERYDAY!
