For some reason, I can only remember this about every other week. This week, I am going to write about a calmer hour from last Friday afternoon.
1:30 pm we finish lunch
1:35 pm I clean up the dishes and the counters, and I tell the little kids to get some books.
1:45 pm I put Joshua down for a nap.
1:50 pm I sit on the couch with Adam, Rachel, Anya, and Joseph and read 5 of their stories.
2:20 pm I tell Johnny to put on a movie for the little kids.
2:30 pm Joseph and I are lying in my bed together. Joseph is rolling around and playing with the blankets. I am reading scriptures on my Kindle. Soon we will both be happily asleep for about an hour.
Here are a couple of funny children's books we have enjoyed together recently .

That is a nice and calm hour and a nap to boot. Sounds like heaven!
Twelve Terrible Things is one of my kids' most favorite books ever. "What do you mean you don't like gravy? Everybody likes gravy!"
I liked the sound of those moments. I remember that all my children had to take naps. When they were over 5 years old I didn't expect them to fall asleep; but I did expect them to play quietly in their room and of course book were a great way to keep them quiet.
