As far as I go, I have 20 to 30 pounds to lose. I gained 10 pounds after Anya was born that I never lost. Then I gained another 10 pounds after Joseph was born that I never lost, and now I am still another 10 pounds heavier. If I lose just 20 pounds, I will be okay with that. If I lose 30 pounds I will be back to my college weight. That would be nice, but I am older and I have had 8 babies. I will be satisfied with being 10 pounds heavier than I was when I was 19.
My weight loss plan is to lay off desserts and to exercise 3 to 5 days a week. I have worked out part b pretty well. I bought a used elliptical last Saturday and I am using it during nap time. We don't always have a nap time. But we do have a nap time at least 3 to 5 days a week. Since this has always been my personal time, I won't be losing any time that I spend cleaning the house or interacting with my family. When it warms up a little more, I want to start taking my babies on long evening walks. We live near a city trail, so that could work out well.
The part I am finding challenging is eating less sugar. My kids expect cookies after school most days. Most days I make them cookies. Then I eat the cookies too. I am either going to have to listen to a lot of complaining kids eating fruit (which we do, but if we do fruit for every snack instead of homemade cookies, my food budget jumps up a lot.) or just stop eating the cookies. I think I should just work on self control. I find it easy to not eat too much and to not eat anything sugary until school gets out. Then I am tired and want to eat junk along with my kids. Anyway, I have to work on this a lot! Does anyone have any ideas?
