Thoughtful Thursday: Parenting Styles

One thing I have learned from being a part of two big families is that there are many different  ways to parent and establish a family. As the families get together in the summer those differences become more and more apparent.

Some parents are stricter than others. All of the families have different ideas about medicines, vaccinations, and doctors care. Our eating, exercise, and clothing choices are different. Each family has different standards for movies and music. There are a few common threads. All of the parents love their children and try to do what is best for their children. All of the siblings love and respect their parents and want what is best for their parents. All of the siblings grew up together.

There is no place like family to learn to accept and appreciate all of the wonderful differences the world has to offer. I have learned that there are a million good ways to be a good mother and father and that is a beautiful thing.

That's one of the best things about free agency too. You find and make a family that you are comfortable with and you make your happiness.

Amen to it all; this was a sweet post. It's all true that families are different but then similar too.
Blessings!
