The Will of The Lord
Three weeks ago I found myself really worrying that my period had not started, but I just stuffed that thought away as paranoia. Two weeks ago, I told John that I thought my period might be late, but that I could not remember exactly when I last had it to begin with, so it was probably nothing. Monday, November 23, I bought a pregnancy test, just in case, so I could start prenatal vitamins if needed. About 2 hours later, I took the test expecting it to be negative. About 20 seconds later, I read over the instructions of the test three times to make sure that the result I saw was correct. Then I took the test and the instructions to John and he confirmed that yes indeed it was a positive test. I felt completely shocked. I did not sleep for the next three days. I really didn't think we were going to be having any more kids, at least not for three years. I had already thrown away my maternity clothes, and had given away most of my baby clothes. John and I were trying not to get pregnant and we were using a method that we knew had its faults, but that has worked 100% for us in the past.
John and I both feel that this is the will of the Lord for us, whether it ends in a miscarriage or a seventh child. I only started feeling ill two days ago, and I have had some cramping, so I do not feel confident that this pregnancy will not miscarry. I suspect we will know in two months time. What I do know is that I am going to be happy with whatever the Lord wants for us. I am not saying that I will be happy if I miscarry. Actually, I have been dreading that possibility. I know that seven kids, and particularly, the seventh kid just around 4 years and 8 or 9 months after the fourth kid, will be really hard. But it is here, and I am pregnant, and I want the baby. I am just determined to be pleasant and happy no matter the outcome. The Lord knows what is best for my husband and I and our children. I know that I can trust the Lord. He will be there to guide me and help raise all of these young children, or He will be there to support me through the difficult emotions of a miscarriage. I know this is true, because the Lord has always been there and he has always answered my prayers.

Again, yessss, mom will be excited
WHAT?!!!?
I mean....WHAT!!?!?!
Diane! My goodness, I know you liked comparing your small belly to my massive belly last christmas, but just because I got prego, didn't mean you had to just to go through that again. ;o) haha. jk.
But really you have such a good attitude. I don't know how I would feel about that. 7 kids is a lot and you just had a baby! Ahhh! Well good luck and I am proud of you for relying so much on the Lord. That is very admirable and inspriing. God just knows what a good Mother you are and that's why he keeps sending them to you.
Looks like we're on this roller coaster together again! Yay for the pregger ladies!
Wow. Wow, wow, wow.
I am so excited for you guys. And I hugely, hugely admire your attitude.
From someone who has very little concept of 6 kids (let alone 7), put based upon what I can project from 2, let me just say that you guys are truly so amazing and capable and that there is no other explanation than that you must be doing a great job and the Lord trusts you very much.
I know there's probably not a thing we can do to help out or support you, but if there ever is, please let us know!! You're the best.
I am always 100% so impressed with you guys. You sesriously are so great. I know what you mean though. I have been REALLY nervous about having another baby. Not because it is another mouth to feed or another crazy kid running around the house to clean up after, but because I was really worried about losing it after what all happened with Harrison. But I knew that there was child ready and waiting to come to our home and as soon as I was pregnant I was very excited but also very very nervous and have been for the entire time until last month I was reading my scriptures and it was Ether 12 and talked about faith and miracles and then the words from the hymn Be Still My Soul came to mind ..... "guide the future as he has the past", and I just felt that no matter what happened we would be okay, and I was just filled with peace and hope for our baby. I have not been so nervous since and have just been keeping that hope and faith that all with turn out well and that even if there are problems, we will get through it.
So, anyways, now that I left the longest comment ever...sorry. I just have to say that honestly, if anyone can handle 7 kids, 4 being very very young, it is you. I am always so impressed by you and John and how great your kids are and how great you are. You are such a good example to me and I learn a lot from you and your family. I hope you don't miscarry, and we will remember you in our prayers. Take Care and can't wait to see you.
hehehe... Now we're pregnant together again. Hey maybe this time I'll have to girl and you can have to boy or both of us can have girls or boys AND on the same day...maybe.
I totally agree with what has been said and I think Heavenly Father thinks you guys are ready for another baby - there's a spirit up there waiting to be a part of your family! You have a great attitude and making the Lord's will your will - you can never go wrong. I pray everything will go well! And to be pregnant at the same time as your sister - how fun!
