Fall

I love Wichita in the fall. The weather is beautiful, the colors are beautiful. The heavy summer heat has left us with warm, breezy happy days. There is also a feeling of festivity that seems to be catching with fairs, and pumpkin farms and Halloween welcoming in the winter holidays. It is not cold and it is not hot so all of these things are just delightfully comfortable. The nights are still somewhat warm. It is very pleasant to be out after dark and enjoy the orange harvest moon and the shadows it casts.

I aways find that I like to cook this time a year. Baked goods are yummy again with the weather more mild. Everyone is excited to have pumpkin and apple treats again and we all love those wonderful spice smells that baking brings into the house.
