Funny Things

Variety of Funny Kid Events

  1. I bought Rachel a new princess doll and told her that when she learns to clean her room she can have it. Instead of Rachel putting the toys back into the boxes and the boxes back onto the shelves in her closet, She "sets up" her toys. A few examples of her "set-ups" would be lining all of the toys up in front of the boxes in a very neat straight line, or setting up the doll house furniture on her floor with the dolls around it, or having a dishes set up like for dinner with the food all on the dishes, or her dolls all lined up with blankets or burp rags laying on top of the dolls and dishes all around. Sometimes her bedroom will have all of these sorts of "set-ups" all at the same time.
  2. When we pulled up to the library yesterday, Adam asked if he could bring his sword into the library. I said that he could if he did not hit any books or any kids. Adam then put down his sword and said, "Then I won't bring it in, " and he left his sword in the car.
  3. Ruth brought home a science quiz that she had gotten one problem wrong on. Her answer was just hilarious. The question was: Why is the Sky Blue? Ruth answered: Because blue is a more showy color than red.

A Good Night's Sleep

Adam slept about an hour and a half later than anyone else this morning. When I asked him if he had a good nights sleep, he replied, "I had a wiggily one."

I just love the cute way kids express things.

A beautiful Sky and A Great Home

This is in our back yard. We are located right at the point of the mountain on the Salt Lake and Utah county lines. We get some pretty beautiful sky lines out here. I really do love where we have moved too.  I love that we are 25 minutes to SLC and 25 minutes to Provo. I love my neighbors. I love the backyard park, and I love the floor plan of our house. I love that my kids love it here enough that they would rather stay here in this neighborhood and school than move into a big fancy house somewhere else. Another big plus is this is the only place we could find that we could fit our family into and have a house payment that we can afford. The one thing that worried me about moving to Utah was the cost of housing. But Heavenly Father did help us find a truly good place for our family.

Squirts Car

Adam telling John about his hot wheels sports car: This is a squirts car, it doesn't squirt cause its just a toy, but a real squirts car can squirt. He was quite insistent that it was a "squirts car" and that while his toy one didn't squirt, real one's do.

I Can't Wait Until I'm Eight!!!!!

He was so cute on his birthday. He wanted a bike. We bought a bike and some new darts for his dart gun. We told Johnny that we could not afford a bike so we only got him a small present. He was not the least bit unhappy. He just said, "Okay." And when he opened the darts he was so excited. We had Ruth and Kate unveil the bike at this time, and Johnny didn't even realize it because he was so excited about the darts.

Because Adam and Rachel were such a handful on Johnny's birthday, things got finished pretty late. Here is Johnny on his new bike around 9pm on a school night.

On Tuesday, we had a birthday party with Johnny's friends and cousins. We have this awesome park in our back yard with a big pavillion and field. So we did the party there. The kids had a lot of fun, and it was neat for me to see Johnny interacting with all of his friends. They played soccer, tag, balloon stomping, and capture the flag. I think capture the flag won out 100% with all of the kids.
I just wanted to say that Johnny is such a good, sweet boy. He cares if he is doing the right thing or not. He sure blesses our family immensely. I remember when I was pregnant with him and both John and I felt like we were being given a child that is better than both of us and that we did not deserve him. Johnny has proven that true every day of his life. I am certain that Johnny will grow into a very good man because he is a very good conscientious boy. Happy Birthday, my good son.

Conversation At Dinner

(Adam and Rachel under the table) Adam: Don't touch it. It is dead.
Me: What are you guys doing?
Adam: Looking at something dead.
