The Last Two Months

We have 6 weeks left of the school year, so that's good for all of us. We've been cruising along and getting through our curriculum. I have more school and project stuff planned for the summertime.

We have potatoes, spinach, carrots, onions, hearty brown peas, and turnips planted in the garden with a lot more to get planted as the season changes and progresses. Johnny and Adam have done most of the gardening.

We have 15 runner ducks and 8 chicks in a brooder in the garage. And we have 15 Cayuga ducks and 3 geese that should arrive in the mail in the next two weeks. We will have to get a fence and build a house for all of these ducks.

A week ago we had a pack of coyotes come onto our property at about 2am and took away about 12 of our hens. We have had to secure them all up more now. That's why we have 8 more hens.

I am still pregnant-- 19 weeks today. I am starting to feel the baby move and starting to feel better from the difficult first trimester.

We had 3 birthdays and Christopher's memorial in January. Anya is 13, Josh 10, and Gideon 2.

Anya is gentle and does her school work faster than everyone else. Gideon is a funny and fun kid. He loves to wrestle and he loves Batman. Josh is reading better most days. He is doing a little more around the house as I remind him that he is ten now and we need him to help him more. Josh loves computer games more than anything else.

All of the other kids are doing well. Sam can pick up a room and wash things down and he may even be able to vacuum if I asked. He's become very capable. He builds with blocks and cries about getting time to play with the computer. Susan is reading a little more now. I have taken school slow for her but she is progressing nicely at her own pace. Arwen doesn't like to be asked to do chores nor does she want us to think that she is capable of doing a lot because she doesn't want to be asked. But Arwen is very capable and independent and a smart and good reader and working above grade level at everything. And Arwen told me write that she loves the ducks.

Joseph has been learning how to program computer games with Johnny as his teacher. I don't know if he likes it or not, but he has been doing it along with complaining. Joseph and Rachel complain the most about school and spend the most time doing absolutely nothing at all. I'm trying to figure that one out. My 3 oldest kids were punished by saying you can't do my homework. Now I have to ordinary problem of kids who will not do their homework.

Adam has a hard time staying focused and getting his work done. But at least he wants to learn and work and improve his mind and learn to do things. When the kids ask, I say that Adam is my favorite child because he helps me so much with everything and rarely complains when I ask him to do something.

My answer to Why are we see so many liberals in the church

I think that the pure gospel and worship of the true Jesus Christ is the cure to those bad ideas. Light chases away darkness. They cannot exist together. The truth stands out for itself, but we've put the scriptures last and have not learned the character of Jesus Christ. Instead we preach some other Jesus Christ, a rather one dimensional character who excuses evil in the name of love. It is our duty to know the only true God and Jesus Christ. If we have not given them the study and time it takes to really know them, and if we take lightly the commandments and pretend that we will be saved no matter what we do, then we have left ourselves open to the philosophies of man mingled with scripture and the enticements and lures of Satan and we will remain in darkness.

Picture Dump

We had a good Christmas and yes I have very much neglected blogging and writing anything for the most part recently. I found out that I was pregnant the first of December and I have been more tired and more sick than other pregnancies and just have no energy. But here are our pictures.
