We have not been back to the beach in over a month. We went on a warm day and stayed beyond sunset, which wasn't as pretty as other times. The waves were tall and fierce. At one point, Rachel was thrown down and her head was smashed onto Kate's foot. Rachel was fine, but Kate broke two toes and her foot and it still healing a month and a half later. I would like to get one more beach trip in before it gets too cold. That may be next week as a big storm is coming tonight. But anyway, the pictures are beautiful and we all still LOVE the beach and the beautiful place that we live in.

Happy Birthday, Kate!!
She's 23, finished her first novel, has a broken foot, and is crocheting Christmas presents for the little kids. Ruth orchestrated a Blue's Clues birthday for Kate to mimic her second birthday. I think that Kate was quite pleased.

Gideon's Haircut
I have a ton of catch up as it has been over a month since we download any pictures. I have two birthdays and school and my new curriculum book up for sale, etc. But for now, I gave Gideon a hair cut today. He has been telling me for 3 days to cut his hair and today and I found the time. I cut about 3 inches off, and then he cried out that it was not cut, so I cut 3 more inches and here's the before and after.

Happy Birthday, Eliza!!
And just like that, Eliza turns 1!!
She has been walking full time for over a month now. She even runs sometimes. Eliza is strong and opinionated. She'll bite your hand to get you to let go of her when she wants something that we don't want her to get. Eliza loves everyone's hair, but has very little of her own. She loves pulling hair too. Eliza loves to wake a sleeping person, particularly Gideon. She hates being trapped. She screams like she is dying if you put a blanket on her or hold her so that she can't go. Eliza loves the animals. She says duck and loves to watch the ducks. She loves to hold and chase the cats, and when we were at my parents, she was desperate to get to their dogs. We know when Eliza can talk, she is going to come at us with all of her opinions because she definitely has them.
